Hamas in the Gaza Strip has agreed in writing to an agreement that provides for a ceasefire and the release of further hostages in return for Palestinian prisoners, according to sources within the Islamist organization. The agreement was deposited with the mediators in Qatar. According to Hamas circles in Qatar, this took place after Israel presented plans for the withdrawal of its troops, as it had requested.
