Israel has been the target of two missile attacks from Yemen within a few hours.

After the first attack the previous evening, several attempts were made to intercept another rocket during the night, the Israeli army announced. It had probably been shot down, but there were no reports of casualties or damage. However, according to the Magen David Adom rescue service, eleven people were injured while running to shelters and four others suffered panic attacks, reported the "Times of Israel".

Warning sirens sounded again in several areas in the center of the country, including again in the coastal metropolis of Tel Aviv. A few hours earlier, the Israeli army said it had destroyed a missile fired from Yemen while it was still outside Israeli airspace. This incident had also triggered an air raid alert in parts of the country, causing thousands of people to rush to shelters.

The Houthi militia in Yemen repeatedly attacks Israel with rockets and drones loaded with explosives. The militia confirmed that it had fired a missile at an "important target" in the greater Tel Aviv area. According to its own statements, it is acting in solidarity with the Islamist Hamas, which is fighting against the Israeli army and triggered the Gaza War with its terrorist attack on Israel more than 15 months ago.
