As Mitte Aargau also announced on Thursday, it has therefore decided not to submit a candidacy from Aargau to the national search committee of Mitte Schweiz. They have taken note of Dieth's decision with regret. At the same time, it is pleased to know that a committed and prudent councillor will continue to serve on the executive of the canton of Aargau.
"I value my opportunities for direct exchange with the population and the exciting task of helping to shape the further development of the canton of Aargau," wrote 57-year-old Dieth in his personal statement.
As President of the Conference of Cantonal Governments, he also wants to continue to be a strong link between the cantons and the federal government. In his role as cantonal councillor in Aargau, he says, he experiences great appreciation and a trusting relationship with the population. This also applies to the government, the administration and cooperation with parliament.
