Tourism Hotel industry on record course after overnight stays increase in November
The Swiss hotel industry recorded a significant increase in overnight stays in November. The industry thus remains on course to beat the overnight stay record set in 2023.

In November, the hotel industry increased by 5.8% year-on-year to 2.39 million overnight stays, as reported by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) on Thursday. The number of overnight stays increased significantly for both domestic and foreign guests.
The number of overnight stays by Swiss guests rose by a whopping 8.0 percent to 1.24 million overnight stays. The figure for guests from abroad was 1.15 million overnight stays (+3.6%). However, November is not a particularly important month for the local industry.
The industry therefore remains on course to exceed the record figure of 41.8 million overnight stays set in 2023. From January to November 2024, 39.4 overnight stays were recorded. This is 1.9 percent more than in the same period in 2023.
