The cement manufacturer Holcim has sold its business in Kenya to the Amsons Group. Holcim will receive more than 100 million US dollars in cash for its 58.6 percent stake in Bamburi Cement Limited, as the company announced on Friday.

The sale is in line with the strategy of strengthening Holcim's position in its core markets. In addition, the Amsons Group is better positioned to further develop its activities in Kenya in the long term.

Holcim had already divested its activities in Nigeria at the beginning of December. This business was sold to Huaxin Cement for 1 billion US dollars.
