On December 12, the Federal Supreme Court will decide on a possible new ballot on the increased retirement age for women. The electorate approved this on September 25, 2022. Appellants claim that this was based on incorrect figures.

This means that the electorate did not make an informed decision, according to the complaints from the Greens, the SP Women and a lawyer. They demand that the narrow result of 50.5 percent approval of the AHV 21 bill with the increased retirement age for women from 64 to 65 years be overturned and that the ballot be repeated.
The overly pessimistic figures would have cost women a year's pension. The Federal Social Insurance Office (FSIO) admitted in August that it had miscalculated the financial prospects of the AHV.
This led to an inaccurately high forecast of AHV expenditure and was also reflected in the voting documents. According to current knowledge, expenditure in 2033 will be CHF 2.5 billion lower than stated.
