This fall, the light and sound spectacle at the Bundeshaus will be dedicated to Swiss birdlife. Under the title "Volare", onlookers are promised a flight to a bird paradise.

"Rendez-vous Bundesplatz" is taking place for the 14th time, as the organizers announced on Tuesday. The spectacle can be seen three times a day from October 19, the last time on November 23.

Owls and kingfishers, bearded vultures and great spotted woodpeckers, cranes and lapwings - they will all be projected onto the façade of the parliament and amaze the audience. "Wallcreepers will climb the façade and dippers will fly through a thundering waterfall," the organizers announced.

The audience will also witness a crane mating dance, learn about the eating habits of a swallow family and watch nocturnal hunting scenes. The Sempach Ornithological Institute contributed to the program. It is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.

The light spectacle attracts several hundred thousand people each year. Admission is free.
