Due to the tensions in the region, the US airline Delta has extended the suspension of its direct flights between the USA and Israel until the end of the year.

Delta flights between New York's JFK Airport and Tel Aviv will be paused until December 31 "due to ongoing conflicts in the region", the company announced. This means that there will be no more direct flights between the USA and Israel, Delta confirmed to the AFP news agency. The connection had originally been suspended until the end of October. Lufthansa had also extended its flight stop to Tel Aviv and Tehran on Thursday in view of the continuing escalation of violence in the Middle East, but only until next Tuesday. The Lufthansa flight stop for the Lebanese capital Beirut was also extended until October 26. Air France initially suspended its flights to Beirut and Tel Aviv until today, Friday.
