The public prosecutor's office in Graubünden has brought charges against a police officer in the case of construction cartel whistleblower Adam Quadroni. This legal step is the result of a complaint by Quadroni. However, he has now also been charged himself.

The police officer charged with deprivation of liberty and abuse of authority is the former head of the Scuol police station, as confirmed by the appointed extraordinary public prosecutor Urs Sutter on Monday in response to a report by "Sonntagsblick".

This police officer was involved in a police operation against the whistleblower on June 15, 2017. At the time, Quadroni was arrested and taken into custody. He had previously blown the whistle on the Graubünden construction cartel.

However, as Sutter told the Keystone-SDA news agency, Quadroni himself was also charged along with the head of the post. The whistleblower is accused of threatening the police. In addition, further charges against him are pending with the public prosecutor's office.
