The 41-year-old driver crossed into the oncoming lane shortly before 7 p.m. for reasons that are still unclear. He broke through a crash barrier and fell around eight meters down the embankment, said a spokeswoman for the Thurgau cantonal police on Monday morning at the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency. The Wil-Münchwilen Pflegeheim section of the Frauenfeld-Wil Railway is expected to remain closed until the end of operations on Tuesday, as Appenzeller Bahnen wrote on its website.
