Bosch already generates one in four euros with parts for commercial vehicles. This is set to increase in the future. The supplier wants to grow, particularly with electric and hydrogen trucks.

The supplier Bosch wants to expand its business with commercial vehicles and is reorganizing the business segment. From January 2025, the area will be bundled into a new business unit, the company announced at the IAA Transportation trade fair in Hanover. The segment reportedly accounts for around a quarter of the Group's turnover.

"In the coming years, we expect the continuing growth in global freight transportation and the simultaneous switch to alternative drive systems in commercial vehicles to give our business a further boost," said Bosch Mobility CEO Markus Heyn. The new business unit is intended to make targeted use of these opportunities. To this end, system development and product and portfolio management for truck and off-road applications will be combined.

"We are convinced that this new set-up will offer added value for our customers," said Jan-Oliver Röhrl, who will be responsible for the new business unit. The Group expects one in five heavy-duty trucks to be electric by 2030 and one in three by 2035. According to the forecast, fuel cell trucks are likely to account for a further ten percent by then.
