At least 30 people were reportedly injured in turbulence on an Air Europa flight to Uruguay in the early hours of the morning (local time). The plane, which was on its way from Madrid to Montevideo with 325 passengers, had to make an emergency landing in Brazil at the airport of the north-eastern city of Natal, as Air Europa announced on Platform X.

At least 30 passengers of various nationalities received medical treatment, the news portal "G1" reported, citing the city's emergency services. More than ten of them were taken to hospital.

According to the medical team quoted by "G1", the patients hit their heads during the turbulence and suffered cervical vertebrae fractures, facial injuries or complained of chest pain.
