The Bern cantonal police have arrested a suspected burglar. He is said to have committed eight burglaries in the Seeland region, they announced.

The police caught the 27-year-old man in Biel. He was suspected of having committed a burglary in Walperswil, as they wrote in a press release.
After an in-depth investigation, the police's suspicions were confirmed that the suspect was responsible for a further six burglaries in the municipalities of Hagneck, Lyss, Brügg, Lengnau and Täuffelen between February and April 2024.
The police were also able to charge the man with a burglary in Solothurn. He allegedly stole a total of half a million francs worth of goods and caused several tens of thousands of francs worth of property damage.
The accused man is currently in custody. He will have to answer to the courts.
