Shortly before its arrival on the coast of the US state of Texas, Atlantic storm "Beryl" has once again reached hurricane strength. The US hurricane center NHC classified it as a category 1 hurricane after "Beryl" reached wind speeds of around 120 kilometers per hour on Sunday evening (local time). According to the authority, the storm is expected to increase in strength before making landfall.

According to the report, "Beryl" was last located in the Gulf of Mexico around 170 kilometers east of the Texan port city of Corpus Christi. In this context, the authorities warned of possible tornadoes for the upper part of the Texas coast and the entire area around the metropolis of Houston.

As an extremely strong level 5 hurricane, "Beryl" had already caused devastation on its way through the Caribbean. After hitting land on the Mexican peninsula of Yucatán, it weakened again somewhat as it moved over the Gulf of Mexico.
