This means that he and his brother Tristan Tate, who has also been charged, will not have to stand trial for the time being. The case will be returned to the public prosecutor's office, the court announced.
In a statement, 38-year-old Andrew Tate described the allegations against him as "lies". He will "fight to the end" to prove his innocence, the controversial influencer explained.
The Tate brothers have been charged with gang trafficking and rape in Romania. In November, however, the Romanian judiciary found "irregularities" in the indictment. Due to procedural errors, the court had not admitted evidence.
Lawyer speaks of "important legal victory"
The fact that the case is now going back to the public prosecutor's office shows "the fundamental errors in the presentation of evidence", explained 36-year-old Tristan Tate. The brothers' lawyer spoke of an "important legal victory".
The brothers were temporarily arrested at the end of 2022 in Bucharest, where they had been living for several years. In June 2023, they were accused of luring women into traps by faking feelings and then forcing them to produce pornographic films. They are also under investigation for alleged child trafficking, sexual abuse of minors and money laundering.
"They put me in prison, took my money, my cars and every bit of my freedom," explained Andrew Tate. He has been accused of the "worst" crimes a man could be accused of and has been declared "the biggest enemy", Tate, who is currently under house arrest, continued.
Investigations also underway in the UK
The brothers are also under investigation in the UK, including for rape and tax evasion. On Wednesday, a London court ruled that more than two million pounds (2.4 million euros) could be confiscated from the brothers' frozen accounts in order to settle their tax debts.
Former kickboxer Andrew Tate became known for his misogynistic comments and views on online networks, among other things. Although he was banned from several networks such as Instagram and Tiktok, he still has more than ten million followers on the online service X.
