The President of the Swiss Confederation, Viola Amherd, will attend the European Political Community meeting in Budapest on Thursday. Among other things, Amherd is planning bilateral talks with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

She will discuss the status of Switzerland-EU negotiations with the President of the European Commission, said Amherd on her arrival at the football stadium in Budapest, where the meeting is taking place. Further talks were planned with the heads of state and government of Kosovo, Albania and Cyprus, according to the President's spokesperson.

The European Political Community (EPC) summit was attended by 47 states from the continent as well as the EU institutions and other organizations such as the Council of Europe and NATO. The summit was hosted by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
