The Swiss speed skiers are also performing well in the super-G in Wengen. Franjo von Allmen is on his way to his first World Cup victory, Stefan Rogentin is in 3rd place in the intermediate rankings.
Von Allmen has already come close to his premiere twice this winter. In the last two downhill races, he finished second behind his teammates - in Val Gardena/Gröden behind Marco Odermatt and in Bormio behind Alexis Monney. Von Allmen has previously finished in the top three once in the super-G. Just under a year ago in Garmisch, he finished in 3rd place.
Vincent Kriechmayr came closest to Von Allmen in terms of time. The Austrian missed out on the first win of the season for a Ski Austria athlete by a tenth of a second. Rogentin continued his improvement in results in this winter's super-G. His previous record includes 26th place in Beaver Creek, 5th place in Val Gardena/Gröden and 4th place in Bormio.
The fact that Rogentin did this was not necessarily to be expected after his previous history. The man from Graubünden had crashed in the first training session for Saturday's downhill, had taken a break the following day and was still feeling the after-effects with pain in his back and ankles in the super-G.
Rogentin had already taken part in an award ceremony in Wengen after a super-G. He finished second two years ago and has been at the top of the World Cup once before. Last March at the final in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, he won the super-G ahead of his teammates Loïc Meillard and Arnaud Boisset.
Things didn't go as planned for Marco Odermatt in the fourth super-G of the winter. The man from Nidwalden is in 7th place in the intermediate rankings. Monney is the fourth Swiss in the top ten in 9th place.
