Clint Capela has made a successful start to his tenth full season in the NBA. The Geneva native won the first game with the Atlanta Hawks at home against the Brooklyn Nets 120:116.

Capela was one of Atlanta's starting five after his participation was uncertain following an injury to his right ankle in pre-season. He grabbed seven rebounds in almost 20 minutes, but was only successful with two of his five attempts.

Trae Young and Onyeka Okongwu, who shares playing time with Capela at the center position, were the main difference-makers. Young scored 30 points and Okongwu 28, while Brooklyn's Cam Thomas was the best scorer with 36 points.

Both Brooklyn and Atlanta (in the play-in) missed the play-offs last season. This also applies to Atlanta's next opponent at home on Saturday night, the Charlotte Hornets.
