The home team almost scored the lucky punch in the 90th minute. After a beautiful pass into the back, Matteo Di Giusto had plenty of space, but missed well. Di Giusto, of all people, who has been responsible for all three of FCW's goals so far this season, lost his nerve this time.
However, it would have been an excessive reward for the home team, who had done little for the game up to that point. The Vaud side, who concentrated mainly on defending after two defeats at the start, were at least able to reward themselves with their first point. They, too, put in a performance that was less than exhilarating overall.
The game at the Schützenwiese was the first in this Super League season to end without a goal.
