Dutchman Ian Maatsen is moving within the Premier League from Chelsea to Aston Villa. The club from Birmingham made the announcement on Friday.
The club, which finished fourth in the Premier League last season, did not provide any information about the duration of the contract or the transfer fee. According to media reports, Aston Villa paid more than 40 million euros for the 22-year-old and signed him to a contract until 2030.
Borussia Dortmund were also interested in Maatsen, who is currently at the European Championships with the Dutch national team. The left-back played for Gregor Kobel's club on loan in the second half of the season and has regained his former strength.
