FC Basel's strong run comes to an end in the 16th round. The Super League leaders had to settle for a 1-1 draw at home to Lausanne-Sport. Meanwhile, Lucerne won 1-0 at Yverdon.
FC Basel were unable to maintain their clean sheet in November after three previous victories. The home team went into the break with a 1-0 lead after a goal from Marin Soticek (14th). However, Lausanne-Sport equalized shortly after the break with a goal from Teddy Okou (56') and earned the point away from home with a significant improvement in performance
Basel are now one point ahead of Lugano at the top of the table. However, the draw allows the Ticino side to take first place with a win on Sunday (4.30pm) in the chasing duel in Geneva against Servette.
Lucerne, still leaders at the beginning of October, improved from 5th to 4th place at the expense of Servette thanks to a 1-0 win at third-bottom Yverdon. In the third match on Saturday, FC Zurich and Grasshoppers face each other in the 287th Zurich city derby at Letzigrund Stadium at 20:30.
