Yann Sommer and Inter Milan missed out on a move to the top of the Serie A table. The champions drew 1-1 at home against leaders Napoli.
Scott McTominay gave the visitors from Napoli the lead after a corner kick in the 23rd minute. Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer was powerless to stop the Scot's shot from close range.
However, Inter equalized before the break with a spectacular long-range strike from around 25 metres by Hakan Calhanoglu. The Mannheim-born captain of the Turkish national team had the best chance to score the winning goal in the second half, but his penalty in the 74th minute missed the left post.
The points share in the top match of the 12th round keeps the standings exciting. Napoli remain top with 25 points, followed one point behind by a quartet of Inter Milan, Fiorentina, Atalanta Bergamo and Lazio Roma. Juventus Turin in 6th place are also just two points behind Napoli.
