The victory in the women's skiathlon at the World Cup in Lillehammer went to star Therese Johaug, who returned after two years away.
The 36-year-old Norwegian was untouchable over 10 km classic and 10 km freestyle and won by 42.6 seconds ahead of compatriot Heidi Weng. Nadja Kälin in 33rd place lost four and a half minutes, Anja Weber had to make do with 44th place.
Therese Johaug seems to be getting in better shape from race to race. In Lillehammer she celebrated her World Cup victories number 83 and 84. The races in Davos are now coming up next weekend.
Burgener the only Swiss finalist
Snowboard. - Pat Burgener was the only Swiss-Ski representative to reach the final of the snowboard halfpipe event in Zhangjiakou, China. However, he had to settle for 10th place after Japan's Yuto Totsuka won. American Maddie Mastro won the women's event, while Berenice Wicki from Aargau came 13th.
Norwegian express too fast for Klee
Cross-country skiing. - Beda Klee, the Swiss number 1 in the skiathlon, was unable to keep up with the leaders at the World Cup in Lillehammer. The Norwegians, who were fighting for tickets for the home World Championships in Trondheim and had seven skiers in the top ten, set too fast a pace. Klee lost 1:13 minutes on the 20 km with ski change in 22nd place, Cyril Fähndrich finished 45th in the victory of World Cup leader Harald Östberg Amundsen.
