Antoine Griezmann (33) retires from the France national team after 137 caps.

"I close this chapter of my life with a heart full of memories," Griezmann wrote on his social networks. "Thank you for this wonderful adventure in the Tricolore and see you soon."

Antoine Griezmann was called up for the first time on March 5, 2014. He was a regular in Didier Deschamps' French national team for more than ten years. He scored 44 goals and won the 2018 World Cup with France. Griezmann lost one other World Cup final (2022) and one European Championship final (2016) with the French.

Griezmann played his last international match in July in the 2:1 draw in Munich in the European Championship semi-final against the eventual European champions Spain. Griezmann was substituted in the second half. His contract with Atletico Madrid runs until the summer of 2026.
