The Chinese delegations in the sports of water diving and table tennis remain unblemished in Paris, winning a combined 13 Olympic gold medals.
With his superior triumph from the 10-meter tower, Cao Yuan ensured that China won all eight Olympic water diving competitions. The 29-year-old Cao also crowned himself the most successful athlete in his sport since Greg Louganis with his personal fourth Olympic gold since 2012. The American, who has also won four Olympic gold medals, was also the last water diver to triumph from the tower at two consecutive Summer Games in 1984 and 1988.
The Chinese also won everything in table tennis - for the sixth time since this sport became an Olympic sport in 1988. On Saturday, China's women won the team final against Japan 3:0.
