Swiss international Noah Okafor will not be moving from AC Milan to Leipzig as expected. After completing the medical check, the Germans have decided not to sign him.
According to the German news agency dpa, the medical check revealed that the 24-year-old striker is not one hundred percent fit and would not be an immediate help. This was first reported by Sky.
Okafor landed in Leipzig on Monday, but there was no announcement of his signing. He had injured his calf in Milan in mid-December, but had recently returned to training with the team.
The Saxons had agreed a loan with Milan until the end of the season and had negotiated a purchase option reportedly worth 25 million euros. The deal has now come to nothing. It remains to be seen whether another club will be found for the 24-time international, who was recently back in Murat Yakin's squad.
