After the first four Swiss Olympic medals went to individual athletes, Roman Röösli and Andrin Gulich are the first team to be received and honored at the Maison Suisse in Paris.

They almost only exist as a double pack: Röösli and Gulich spend as much time together as families do, thanks to their shared passion for rowing. "It's a team effort day in, day out," confirmed Gulich. "We train together almost all year round and go through thick and thin together."

Speaking of thick and thin: Röösli jokingly calls Gulich a bulldog. "Because he simply goes full throttle in every race," explained Röösli. "That's what makes him such a brilliant athlete." Conversely, Gulich likes to refer to his team-mate as his great-grandfather. After all, Röösli was born in 1993, which Gulich, born in 1999, always likes to emphasize.

It was obvious: the two rowers enjoyed the celebration at the Maison Suisse, which was fully booked with 500 visitors. Among them were many family members, to whom, as always, the greatest thanks were due. "They carry us. Not just today, but also in times when we weren't doing so well," said Röösli. Now we can celebrate what we have achieved together.
