It was SCB's first win after six previous defeats. With 72 points, the Bernese are in 4th place with nine rounds to go and still have a good chance of being one of six teams to qualify directly for the playoffs.

Thanks to a final spurt, the top trio of Lausanne (82 points), ZSC Lions (75) and Zug (74) also recorded a win on Saturday, with Zurich (3-2 at bottom-of-the-table Ajoie) and Zug (2-1 in Geneva) only prevailing in overtime. Lausanne turned a 1-2 tie in Ambri into a 4-2 win in the final period.

The duels between the SCL Tigers and Davos (4:3) and Biel against Fribourg-Gottéron (3:2 n.V.) were also close. Lugano celebrated the clearest victory of the full round with a 4-1 win at home against Kloten.
