FC Basel had no problems in Yverdon. Fabio Celestini's in-form team won 4-1, while FC Winterthur beat Lausanne-Sport 1-0 at home.
Basel had an easy game after the red card against Yverdon veteran Anthony Sauthier. Dominik Schmid, Bénie Traoré, Leon Avdullahu and Kevin Carlos scored for the clearly superior FCB. It was the sixth goal of the season for Kevin Carlos and Traoré.
Winterthur, who had previously been bottom of the table, halted Lausanne's run. A goal from Fabian Frei shortly after the break gave the Zurich side their third win of the season. Lausanne had recently won four times in a row.
