Basel initially fell behind at home in St. Jakob-Park, but defender Dominik Schmid's goal shortly before the break restored parity. FCB pulled away in the second half and recorded their first win in the championship since November 24. The four games in between resulted in three draws and one defeat. Basel thus remain level with league leaders Lugano, who celebrated a 3-2 away win in Winterthur on Saturday.

FC Luzern follow in third place in the Super League. The Central Swiss club scored three penalties in their home game against Zurich. They converted two of them on the rebound and one directly. The visitors, who were already two goals down after 19 minutes, weakened themselves further as a result: 20-year-old central defender Daniel Denoon was yellow-carded for the second time in the 22nd minute, leaving FCZ short-handed for the rest of the match. Shortly before the end, Lindrit Kamberi, the visitors' only goalscorer, was sent off for a second time.

FC St. Gallen also celebrated a home win on Sunday, beating Lausanne 3-2 after trailing twice. The team from eastern Switzerland are now very close to the top half of the table, just one point behind sixth-placed Zurich.
