After seven defeats in a row, the Lakers pulled the ripcord on Sunday and parted ways with coach Stefan Hedlund. The fact that they still managed to earn a point in Geneva was thanks to two goals while shorthanded. Gian-Marco Wetter put Rapperswil in front in the 6th minute after a mistake by Geneva defender Sami Vatanen. It was the Lakers' first goal after 130:27 scoreless minutes. In the 54th minute, defenseman Fabian Meier equalized. This goal was also set up by Tyler Moy.

Nevertheless, the Geneva team showed why Servette has the best power play in the league. Theodor Lennström (31) scored his first goal of the season in overtime, as did Josh Jooris (47). Richard Tanner, Vincent Praplan and Markus Granlund scored for Geneva in the penalty shootout, while only Malte Strömwall and Pontus Aberg scored for the Lakers. Eleventh-placed Servette thus celebrated their ninth win in a row against Rapperswil, who remain second-last.
