The five nominees for this year's European Cup Most Valuable Player award include ZSC forward Sven Andrighetto and Antti Raanta, the Finnish goalie from Genève-Servette.

The ZSC Lions should advance to the final after a 6:1 victory in the first leg in Geneva on Tuesday. In the other semi-final, Färjestad from Sweden won the first leg against Sparta Prague 6:2. Färjestad's Canadian goalie Maxime Lagacé, forward Oskar Steen and Sparta's forward Michael Spacek, who started the season with Servette, are the other nominees.

Last year, Finnish defenseman Sami Vatanen from then-champion Genève-Servette won the MVP award.
