After four years as Swiss Cycling's national road coach, Michael Albasini is moving to Team Q36.5 as sporting director.

The structural optimizations at Swiss Cycling announced in September have also resulted in personnel changes. Michael Albasini is leaving the association at his own request after four years. From 2025, the Thurgau native will work as sporting director for the Swiss-licensed pro team Q36.5. It is not yet clear who will succeed the departing national road coach.

Swiss Cycling also announced on Tuesday that Kathrin Stirnemann will take over the women's national mountain bike team from 2025. Edi Telser, who previously held a dual role, will in future concentrate on his work as head coach and national road cycling coach.

Thomas Scheurer, another long-standing coach, is leaving the association. The Zurich native was responsible for the junior national team on the road for ten years.
