The Swiss women's 4x400 m relay team clearly failed to qualify for the Olympic final.
The quartet of Giulia Senn, Julia Niederberger, Annina Fahr and Yasmin Giger finished 7th in the first of two series of preliminary heats. With a time of 3:29.75, the four Swiss women were almost four seconds faster than the national record set by Lea Sprunger, Silke Lemmens, Rachel Pellaud and Giger in the preliminary heat at the Games in Tokyo three years ago. In Paris, the four runners finished 14th out of 16 nations.
