Wayne Carpendale created a cinematic memorial to his father Howard, but he never wanted to immerse himself in the world of music. Instead, he opted for acting and found his own path.

Wayne Carpendale has created a cinematic memorial to his father Howard Carpendale with a documentary. He provides a look behind the scenes and shows the close, loving relationship with his father, which is free of envy.

"I wanted to be in front of the camera early on"

It was clear to Wayne early on that he would take a different career path. "I wanted to be in front of the camera early on," the actor, known from "Unter uns", revealed to Bild. "But never to become a singer. That path would have been too predictable for me." There were no conflicts with his father, but rather with classmates who confronted him with stupid remarks and bullying. To avoid this, he decided to go to school in England, which in retrospect he considers to be the best decision of his life. He completed his A-levels there and studied business administration for a while before devoting himself to acting.

Father and son: a bond of trust

Wayne Carpendale has always been able to rely on his father's support. "Our relationship is close and characterized by the fact that my father met me at eye level even as a small child. He noticed me, listened to me and took me seriously. That gave me self-confidence early on," explained Wayne Carpendale. He is now also using this confidence as the producer and director of the documentary. "I just wanted to capture that moment when my father comes off stage. This whole journey has required a lot of trust from my dad." Howard Carpendale was delighted with the result at the premiere in Munich and said: "My son, all I can say is: whenever it's over, I have a very deep feeling of how much I love you." Wayne Carpendale has obviously done everything right with his work.
