Music US pop star Taylor Swift triumphs at the MTV European Music Awards
US megastar Taylor Swift was honored with four awards at the MTV European Music Awards in Manchester on Sunday. Swift received the award for best female artist and best live artist, among others.

The 34-year-old expressed her gratitude for the award with a recorded message. In it, she expressed her "sadness" at not being able to attend the awards ceremony in person. Swift had been nominated in a total of seven categories. She had already received numerous awards earlier this year, including the fourth Grammy Award of her career to date. She had also been named "Personality of the Year" by "Time" magazine.
The MTV Music Award goes to...
South African singer Tyla was honored with three awards, including Best R'n'B Artist. Thai K-pop singer Lisa received two awards, including Best Collaboration for the song "New Woman", recorded together with Spanish singer Rosalía. The award for Song of the Year went to US artist Sabrina Carpenter for her summer hit "Espresso". US singer Ariana Grande was named best female pop artist of the year.
Eminem and Oasis singer also honored
Two world stars who have been active since the 90s were also honored: US rapper Eminem received the award for the best hip-hop album of the year for his latest album, the tenth time in his career. Liam Gallagher, lead singer of the legendary Britpop band Oasis, was honored in the rock category a good two months after the band's announced comeback.
