Maite Kelly, known as a member of the Kelly family, has established herself as one of Germany's most successful singers. But it was not always easy for her to get there. In her family, she often felt like the black sheep and was kept down. These experiences shaped her self-image and led to severe self-doubt.
The struggle with self-doubt
In an interview with "Bild", Maite reflects on her modesty and the challenges she had to overcome. She describes herself as the frame, not the portrait, and had long wished to write only for others. "The fact that fate saw it differently was not my idea," she explains. It took years for her to recognize her own worth and perceive her music as something special. This realization was a long process, which was supported by the insight that fame and money do not only have positive aspects. "I've also seen flights of fancy in my family. Fame and money are dangerous drugs and some people can't handle them," she says.
Down-to-earth attitude as the key to success
Maite Kelly emphasizes that her down-to-earth attitude has helped her to succeed in show business. She rejects the elbow mentality and relies on friendliness, as she revealed in an interview with "t-online". "I've always been accused of being too good-natured and too naive. But I realized: that's the right way," she says. Even if her good nature is sometimes taken advantage of, she believes that the majority of people around her don't do this. Maite Kelly emphasizes that there is not one strong man behind her success, but many strong men and women. Her modesty has not harmed her professionally, but rather seems to be part of her recipe for success.
