Neither the title nor the content of Steven Spielberg's next film are known, but more and more stars want to step in front of the camera for the Hollywood director. According to media reports, Josh O'Connor is also among the celebrity cast.

He played Prince Charles in the royals series "The Crown" and most recently starred alongside Zendaya in "Challengers": British actor Josh O'Connor (34) is now said to have joined the cast for the new project by Hollywood director Steven Spielberg (77), as reported by the US industry publications "Hollywood Reporter" and "Variety". Before him, stars such as Emily Blunt, Colman Domingo, Colin Firth and Eve Hewson had already signed up.
Studio Universal Pictures announced Spielberg's planned directorial work a few months ago as an "event" for a cinema release in May 2026. The title and content of the film have not yet been officially announced. Hollywood insiders are assuming that it will have science fiction elements.
David Koepp, who has already written the screenplays for Steven Spielberg films such as "Jurassic Park", "Forgotten World: Jurassic Park" and "War of the Worlds", is responsible for the script. Spielberg's long-time co-producer Kristie Macosko Krieger ("The Fablemans", "West Side Story") is also on board.
Oscar-winner Spielberg, who made film history with films such as "Jaws", "E.T.", "Jurassic Park" and "Schindler's List", most recently brought the autobiographical film "The Fablemans" (2022) to the big screen.
