The release of the new single by late One Direction star Liam Payne has been postponed. "Even though we all love the song, it's not time yet," explained US singer Sam Pounds via the X news service.

The songwriter had been working with Payne on the track. Pounds had previously announced that the single "Do No Wrong" would be released on Friday. "We are all still grieving for Liam and I want the family to grieve in peace and prayer," Pounds now explained. "We will all be waiting."

The 31-year-old Payne fell from the balcony of his third-floor hotel room in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires on October 16 and died. Investigators stated that the Briton had apparently "gone through a phase of drug abuse". He was alone in his room at the time of the accident. According to US media, toxicology tests revealed that the One Direction star had taken several different drugs before his fall from the balcony.
