It has been known since December that Bigna Silberschmidt will be leaving Swiss television SRF after ten years.
Just a few days before her last appearance as presenter of "10vor10" next Wednesday, February 26, the 39-year-old has now announced the professional challenges she will be pursuing in the future.
"I'm taking the plunge into self-employment from March," she writes on Instagram.
She continues: "Journalism and constructive stories will continue to be an important part of my projects in the future. I will continue to moderate events ... and occasionally give input presentations, for example on the topic of constructive and inclusive communication."
Eliane Leiser replaces Bigna Silberschmidt
Bigna Silberschmidt then announces where interested people and companies can get in touch if they would like to engage her as a moderator in the future.
The St. Gallen journalist has hosted the news program "10 vor 10" since 2020. She also produced reports, mainly in the areas of society, science, business and the environment.
Silberschmidt once joined SRF as a radio reporter before switching to the TV program "Schweiz aktuell" in 2016, where she worked as a presenter and live reporter.
It is already known who will succeed Bigna Silberschmidt as "10 vor 10" presenter: It is Eliane Leiser.
The 38-year-old journalist has been working for SRF for over ten years. Among other things, she was the presenter of the "Politikum" format and the podcast "Einfach Politik".
