  • Now they're running again: from June 19 to 22, 2024, the horse races will take place at Ascot in the UK.
  • During the traditional event in June, high society comes together to bet and celebrate.
  • And of course, the members of the royal family are not to be missed. Only King Charles, who is suffering from cancer, has not yet made an appearance at Ascot.

Prince William didn't have much time to catch his breath after the "Trooping the Color" military parade last weekend.

The traditional Royal Ascot horse race is taking place this week - and the heir to the throne once again had to replace his father, who is suffering from cancer.

William shared a carriage with Queen Camilla at the entrance to Ascot. While the Prince wore a top hat, the Queen opted for royal blue.

Prince William has fun with his cousins

Pictures later show Prince William in good spirits and relaxed as he inspects Princess Eugenie's hat with Princess Beatrice.

William shares another sweet moment with his cousin Zara Tindall, as a short video on X shows: The two greet each other with two kisses and then hold each other in their arms for a moment.

Zara Tindall lovingly strokes the prince's back, while he smiles in response to her questions and pats her on the shoulder.

But the other members of the royal families present also seemed to be in a very good mood this time at Ascot. Was it the sky-blue weather?

King Charles plans to travel to Ascot today, Wednesday

As always, Royal Ascot lasts five days - so it will be held until June 22. There is a strict dress code for the event.

When it comes to fashion, Royal Ascot is particularly famous for its extravagant hats. They are compulsory for the ladies. And that's not all: the headgear must have a minimum diameter of ten centimetres.

And by the way: King Charles was not idle despite his absence, according to the British "Mirror" he held a series of audiences at Buckingham Palace. He is also due to be part of the equestrian event again on the third day of Ascot today.
