The Paléo in Nyon, one of Switzerland's biggest festivals with around 250,000 visitors expected, opens its doors on Tuesday. Over 250 concerts and shows will be on offer at the 47th edition of the festival.

At a media conference on Monday, festival director Daniel Rossellat was delighted with the predicted good summer weather for the coming week. However, everything started badly on June 9 when the Asse River burst its banks shortly before the start of the construction work and flooded several festival buildings.

There have been no cancellations since the program was announced in mid-March. There will be something for all tastes and ages, from world stars (Patti Smith, Sean Paul, Nile Rodgers, Burna Boy) to stars of French chanson (Véronique Sanson, Calogero, Zaho de Sagazan) to greats of rap (Booba, IAM), techno (Paul Kalkbrenner) or pop (Mika, Sam Smith).

The more than 200,000 tickets were sold out within 21 minutes on March 20. An absolute record.
