Maite Kelly, 44 years old, is not the first to be affected by Thomas Gottschalk's, 74, so-called "loose talk". In his podcast, the presenter made a derogatory remark about the singer, known for the song "Warum hast du nicht nein gesagt".

Gottschalk's controversial comments

In a conversation with his podcast partner Mike Krüger, 72, Gottschalk spoke about his planned appearance on the ARD program "Das Adventsfest der 100.000 Lichter". He joked that he would have to push Maite Kelly aside in order to be seen. Although Kelly does not appear in the show, the comment caused criticism. Gottschalk defended his remark to "Bild" as a harmless gag that was at Maite's expense. He emphasized that jokes are always at someone's expense, which in his world is often women.

Kelly's confident reaction

Maite Kelly was not impressed by Gottschalk's remark. When asked by "Bild", she explained that she had already learned as a child that people who resort to such platitudes only deserve pity. She emphasized that her father had given her enough self-love to overlook such jokes. Nevertheless, degrading comments are unacceptable, as not everyone is as lucky as she is.

Gottschalk, on the other hand, sees no reason for remorse and points to his age, which allows him not to let others get away with it.
