Wolkoff now claims that this portrayal was part of a carefully planned strategy. She says: "Millions of Americans watched 'The Apprentice'. Donald was a household name. He needed a woman who looked good and played the role of mother and wife to make his star rise. Marrying Melania and making her a 'Vogue' cover model legitimized them both."
