The summer vacation marks the start of the peak travel season. For many Swiss people, this also means traveling by plane. And the majority of passengers book an economy ticket.

If you are one of those who arrive at the gate shortly before departure, your trip will probably be free of charge until take-off. However, many travelers, especially families with children, usually arrive at the airport so early that there is still enough time to eat, drink coffee or stock up on magazines for the flight.

The individual expenditure items before departure can then quickly add up to a considerable sum.

Swiss Business Lounge for Economy passengers

An alternative, at least for Swiss and Edelweiss customers and their Star Alliance partners, is the option of booking lounge access in addition to their ticket. Entry to the Business Lounge is available for Swiss Premium Economy passengers from CHF 39, while Economy passengers pay CHF 49. Edelweiss customers who have booked through Swiss still pay CHF 59.
