Since her Oscar nomination, German actress Sandra Hüller has been in the international spotlight even more. Now she is planning a film with Hollywood star Tom Cruise - directed by Mexican director Iñárritu.

The 46-year-old actress' management confirmed a corresponding report in the US film magazine "Deadline".

According to the report, the actress, who was born in Suhl, south of Erfurt, will appear in front of the camera alongside the "Mission: Impossible" star for Mexican director Alejandro González Iñárritu ("The Revenant", "Birdman"). The other cast members include John Goodman, Michael Stuhlbarg, Jesse Plemons and Sophie Wilde. Negotiations are also still underway with Oscar winner Riz Ahmed, according to reports.

The Warner Bros. studio is involved in the project by four-time Oscar winner Iñárritu. The title of the film has not yet been made public. According to Deadline, the story revolves around the most powerful man in the world who tries to stop a catastrophe he has triggered that threatens humanity.

Hüller was nominated for an Oscar this year for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her role in the French legal drama "Anatomy of a Case". She also starred in the British drama "The Zone of Interest", which won the Oscar in the "Best International Film" category.

She can currently be seen in the GDR comedy "Zwei zu eins". She has several international projects planned, including the science fiction film "Project Hail Mary" with Ryan Gosling and "Late Fame" with Willem Dafoe.
