According to CNN, Parsons helped major US companies to overcome crises, including Time Warner and the Citigroup bank.

Under Parsons' leadership, Time Warner paid off billions of dollars of debt in the early 2000s, and the investigation by the authorities into the merger of Time Warner and AOL in 2000 was settled.

"His legacy lives on in the countless leaders he advised, the institutions he innovated and the doors he opened for others," wrote the US investment bank Lazard, which Parsons joined as a board member in 2012.
