Maria Wedig, 40, is back on the set of "Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten" after giving birth to her second child last year. Returning to acting proved to be an emotional challenge for her. "The first two weeks were an emotional rollercoaster," she says, describing her return.
"Humor helps us a lot"
The actress openly admits that she was very nervous at first and that her memory wasn't working as usual, which put her under pressure. "That really stressed me out," she revealed in an interview with RTL. But she has now settled back in and is enjoying her work on set. Everyday life with her five-year-old daughter Leni and her 15-month-old son is demanding, especially as her husband is often away on business. "The combination of being alone with a small child, sleepless nights and work commitments is definitely a challenge that is quite demanding for both of us," she explains honestly. Nevertheless, she stresses that she and her husband are coping well with the situation, and humor is a great help.
New developments for Nina
Maria Wedig is looking forward to the new stories that await her series character Nina on GZSZ. After more than a year in Argentina, Nina is returning with a new surname as she has got married. "Nina got married and seems to be very happy. But it remains to be seen how long that will last," Wedig says. Things have also changed professionally: Nina now works for Navarro Industries and is returning as a customer rather than an employee. Her new husband is sure to appear in the GZSZ world soon. Maria Wedig is enjoying her return to the series and the new stories surrounding her role.
