The planned premiere of 'Manta, Manta - Part Two' on Mallorca with Tina Ruland has been canceled as Spain has declared a state of mourning following an environmental disaster.

Actress Tina Ruland had been looking forward to reprising her role as Uschi in 'Manta, Manta - Zwoter Teil'. The film, which was released last year, was very well received by audiences, just like its predecessor from 1991.

Planned premiere on Mallorca

The movie was originally scheduled to premiere on Mallorca on November 1. The island, which is home to around 24,000 Germans and is visited by 4.2 million German tourists every year, shows great interest in German films. Tina Ruland was scheduled to be a special guest at the open-air event.

Unexpected cancellation

But the premiere had to be canceled. Tina Ruland announced on Instagram that the Spanish government had ordered three days of national mourning, as a result of which all events at sports venues, including the film premiere, were canceled.

Background to the national mourning

The reason for the national mourning is the devastating floods in the Valencia area, in which more than 150 people lost their lives and many are still missing. This catastrophe is considered one of the worst environmental disasters in Spain's history. Tina Ruland expressed her sympathy for those affected and showed understanding for the cancellation of the event.
