He worked on his first album for four years before finally releasing it in 2015. Today, Xen performs on big stages, such as at the Frauenfeld Openair on Thursday afternoon - and is a household name on the Swiss rap scene.
The Dietiker comes across as reflective and at peace with himself. But that wasn't always the case: "My first album is called 'Ich gäge mich' and it really was a me-against-me," says the 34-year-old. Xen is currently very happy with his three children. The dialect rapper recently became a dad again. The hip-hop musician says: "It used to be all about my ego. Today, I always ask myself what I can give the kids."
He wants to be a role model for his three boys and convey the feeling that their daddy is doing something good. "I hope it motivates them to give it their all and shows them that they can achieve anything," says Xen.
